Due to unfortunate circumstances, the Far From Done concert has been cancelled. It will hopefully be rescheduled for later this fall.

Far from Done consists of five friends/musicians from all over the Triangle playing ALL UKULELE – ALL THE TIME! Their mix of harmonies and pop/rock favorites combined with a lead ukulele player who “shreds it” makes it a great time for all!

Far from Done is comprised of:

Jon Shain

Jon Shain founded the Chapel Hill, NC folk-rock group, Flyin’ Mice and their spin-off group, WAKE, and toured with them from 1989-1998 . The band performed with acts such as David Grisman, Tony Rice Unit, Hot Tuna, and the Dixie Dregs, released four CDs, and played clubs, schools, and festivals up and down the East Coast, building a legion of fans. The last few years have seen Shain headlining listening rooms on the East Coast, in the Midwest, and in Europe, as well as opening shows for John Hiatt, Keb’ Mo’, Little Feat, and others. Shain’s newest disc, a duet album with Joe Newberry, Crow the Dawn, was released in January, 2016.

String Beings

String Beings is a trio formed in the Americana/Bluegrass genre, based primarily on tight harmonies. Formed in January 2014, their first public performance was at a band competition at Shakori Hills Festival in North Carolina, where they finished 3rd among the 12 bands entered! Motivated by the great feedback they received at Shakori, they worked hard, perfecting their craft, working on arrangements of songs from other artists, as well as writing their own material. Their efforts have really paid off, and this will be a truly enjoyable show you don’t want to miss!

Coconut Groove is a classic rock and popular cover band based out of Charlotte, NC. They are a group of four seasoned professional musicians/singers with an extremely wide range of musical styles ranging from easy listening, soul, rhythm & blues, Americana, rock’n’roll, pop, funk, blues, country, bluegrass, jazz — spanning many decades of wonderful songs. They toot their own horn, in a humble way, for their vocal harmony arrangements, as well as their individual instrumental talents. 

 

Cajammers

Cajammers is a North Carolina band that has been playing a highly danceable mix of Cajun, Zydeco, and swamp pop since 2012. Unique to the group is a trio of female fiddlers who adore sharing their love for Louisiana-inspired tunes with the audience. This energetic group will keep your toes tapping from beginning to end!
